Position Overview
Dual Immersion Academy is seeking a highly qualified and passionate Elementary Teacher to deliver rigorous, standards-based instruction within a Spanish/English Dual Language Immersion (DLI) model. The teacher will foster bilingualism, biliteracy, and cross-cultural competency while supporting high academic achievement for all students.
This position requires a strong commitment to collaboration, culturally responsive teaching, and the mission of serving a diverse student population.
Work Schedule & Expectations
- Employee is expected to work an 8-hour workday.
- Employee may be asked to work additional days or hours at the discretion of school administration, though this will be used sparingly.
Primary ResponsibilitiesInstruction & Planning
- Develop and implement 180-day plans, unit plans, and daily lesson plans aligned with the Utah State Core/Common Core standards.
- Deliver instruction in accordance with the Dual Language Immersion model (Spanish/English), ensuring language allocation fidelity.
- Engage students in meaningful, standards-based learning experiences that promote both content mastery and language development.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs, including multilingual learners.
Assessment & Data Use
- Assess and evaluate student learning effectively using formative and summative assessments.
- Use student data to inform instruction, provide interventions, and ensure student accountability.
- Maintain accurate and timely grading aligned with instructional plans.
Classroom Management
- Establish and maintain a positive, structured, and culturally responsive classroom environment.
- Reinforce positive behavior through recognition and incentives.
- Hold students accountable for misbehavior using school-wide systems and expectations.
Collaboration & Professional Responsibilities
- Collaborate with grade-level teams, cross-grade teams, and administration to maximize student learning.
- Participate in:
- Team meetings
- Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)
- Faculty meetings
- IEP meetings
- 504 meetings
- Any additional meetings designated by the administration
- Attend and actively participate in professional development and trainings sponsored or promoted by the school.
School & Community Engagement
- Participate in school-wide activities, including:
- Cultural events
- Holiday programs
- Fundraisers
- Maintain active and consistent communication with parents/guardians through:
- Parent-teacher conferences
- Back-to-School Night
- Phone, email, and written communication
Professional Expectations
- Perform all duties to the highest professional standard.
- Act in the best interest of students and the school at all times.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
- Adhere to all DIA policies and procedures, including:
- Charter guidelines

- Student Handbook
- Comply with all state and federal laws.
Qualifications (Recommended)
- Valid Utah Teaching License (or ability to obtain)
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English
- Experience or training in Dual Language Immersion (DLI) preferred
- Strong classroom management and instructional skills
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive teaching

Mission Alignment
All employees are expected to support DIA’s mission of developing bilingual, biliterate, and culturally competent students prepared for academic and lifelong success.
Salary Range: $58,000–$70,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications (bilingual and dual immersion endorsements preferred).

Pay: $55,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
